SAFe Product Owner / Product Manager

Why this training

Develop the skills needed to drive value delivery in a Lean enterprise by becoming a SAFe® 6 Product Owner / Product Manager (POPM). During this two-day SAFe Product Owner training, participants will gain an in-depth understanding of how to effectively fulfill their role in an Agile work environment, as it delivers value through Program Increments.

Learning Objectives
To fulfill the role of a SAFe® Product Owner / Product Manager, participants will learn to:
- Define the roles of Product Owner and Product Manager
- Connect SAFe Lean-Agile principles and values to the PO / PM roles
- Break down Epics into features
- Develop features into well-written stories
- Manage program and team backlogs
- Collaborate with Agile teams in estimating and forecasting work
- Represent customer needs in Program Increment Planning
- Execute the Program Increment and deliver continuous value

More about this course

The training begins by exploring SAFe principles, derived from Lean product development, Agile development, DevOps, and systems thinking. Participants will then discuss how to achieve Team and Technical Agility and how to organize around the flow of value. The training also focuses on the importance of adopting a customer-centric mindset and applying Design Thinking as part of the core competency of Agile Product Delivery, offering participants the opportunity to experience a PI Planning event.

Participants will also gain insights and recommendations for building a continuous delivery pipeline and fostering a DevOps culture. Finally, they will gain an understanding of Lean Portfolio Management and the steps needed to implement this role within the organization.
